The Opportunity
This is an excellent role for a recent HR graduate or a soon-to-be graduate ready to launch their career. You’ll be working with a supportive team in local government and will have a chance to contribute meaningfully to HR operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the development and review of HR policies and procedures.
• Monitoring the HR inbox and managing inquiries or escalating as necessary.
• Providing basic HR advice to staff and leadership.
• Ensuring HR documentation complies with legal, confidentiality, and compliance standards.
• Supporting workforce planning efforts alongside the HR team.

About You

• Tertiary qualification (or soon-to-be qualified) in Human Resource Management.
• Current QLD Class C Driver’s License.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle complex situations with empathy and discretion.
• Demonstrated experience (including internships or projects) in policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach with the ability to influence and negotiate effective outcomes.
